Douglas Bowman presents a wonderful article, Sliding Doors of CSS at A List Apart that pulls together a number of the techniques I've see recently for handling lists as tabs via CSS.
The standout difference of his technique is the use of two different background images for nested elements in order to support flexibility in the size of the composed element.
I stumbled on an interesting thread regarding HCI as science(http://unraveled.com/archives/2003/10/hci_as_science) via blackbeltjones, that also included a link to a HCI-related comic book(http://ok-cancel.com/).
1. What vehicle do you drive?
Most often a 1998 Plymouth Neon.
2. How long have you had it?
We bought it new, so 5 years.
3. What is the coolest feature on your vehicle?
When we bought it, it was the first vehicle we'd had with a CD player. Now it's just that it runs reliably.
4. What is the most annoying thing about your vehicle?
There's a windshield crack that just intrudes on my field of vision...
5. If money were no object, what vehicle would you be driving right now?
A hybrid new Beetle. Unfortunately not yet commercially available... but for a price...
